Sample Tcl Scripts
Use NOTEPAD or any word processor to read the instructions found in the beginning of each .tcl file. The tcl scripts are good examples of how you can use Tcl to add new functionality in Shorthand. Requires Shorthand 8.70b or later.
  • sh_print_summary.tcl writes out a summary (Keyword, Shortcut, Short Description) of the active Shorthand dictionary to a text file. You can then use your word process (e.g. MS Word) to read and print the text file.
  • sh_global_trimright.tcl trims (removes) trailing spaces for each entry in the active dictionary.
  • sh_global_trim.tcl trims (removes) both leading and trailing spaces for each entry in the active dictionary.
  • add_entry.tcl adds a new entry with a single keystroke.
  • sh_import_cdf.tcl converts a comma-delimited text file to a Shortand dictionary file.
  • sh_export_cdf.tcl exports your Shorthand dictionary as a comma-delimited text file.
